Disney+ Original Series 'Moving' to Premiere on MBC This Year
The Disney+ original series 'Moving' is set to make its television debut on MBC channel later this year.
After extensive discussions, MBC and Disney+ have reached an agreement to broadcast 'Moving,' a series that has garnered global attention for its quality and storytelling.
Originally released in August last year as a Disney+ original, the 20-episode drama 'Moving' is based on the popular webtoon by Kang Full. It tells the story of children with hidden superpowers and their parents who harbor painful secrets from the past, as they face immense dangers across different eras and generations. The series features a star-studded cast including Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Jo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, and Kim Sung-kyun, alongside rising stars Lee Jung-ha, Go Youn-jung, and Kim Do-hoon. Upon its release, 'Moving' became a sensation both domestically and internationally, earning praise for opening a new chapter in K-hero dramas.
This collaboration marks the first partnership between a global OTT platform and a domestic terrestrial broadcaster, drawing significant industry attention. The collaboration aims to deliver high-quality content to a broader audience by combining the reach of free-to-air terrestrial broadcasting with the subscription-based OTT platform.
An MBC content strategy team representative stated, "'Moving' is a mega-hit on Disney+, but many viewers have yet to experience it. This collaboration expands viewing rights, allowing diverse audiences to watch leading K-culture content for free on MBC."
MBC will premiere the Disney+ original series 'Moving' on December 22 at 10 PM, with a special broadcast of the first eight episodes over three days during Christmas week. Starting in January, the series will air regularly on Sunday nights with two episodes each week.
