Park Bo-young Shares Her Thoughts on Starring in Disney+ Original Series 'The Light Shop'
Park Bo-young has shared her thoughts on her role in the Disney+ original series 'The Light Shop'.
On the 20th, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific (APAC) hosted the 'Disney Content Showcase 2024' at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The event featured top global stars from the U.S. and the APAC region, offering a sneak peek at theatrical releases and streaming content slated for 2025-2026.
In the afternoon, a premiere and press conference for Disney+'s original series 'The Light Shop' took place. Director Kim Hee-won, writer Kang Full, and actors Ju Ji-hoon and Park Bo-young were in attendance.
'The Light Shop' tells the story of a mysterious Light shop at the end of a dark alley, where customers with suspicious secrets come to visit. Kim Hee-won takes on the role of director for the first time in this series. Ju Ji-hoon plays Won-young, the owner of the light shop, while Park Bo-young portrays Kwon Young-ji, a nurse in an intensive care unit.
Playing a nurse for the third time, Park Bo-young admitted, "I wasn't without pressure. However, the job is the same, but the major and character colors are different. I thought it would be okay."
Regarding her work with Ju Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young expressed, "I didn't get to meet him on set. I was really looking forward to it, but we didn't meet. I hope to work with him in a future project." She added about their on-screen chemistry, "At the boundary of life and death, he does something, and I'm also a guardian at the boundary. I thought the harmony was good when I saw it on screen."
'The Light Shop' consists of eight episodes. Four episodes will be released on December 4th, followed by two episodes each week for two weeks.
