On the 25th, Jo Woo-jin, the star of Disney+ original series 'Gangnam B-Side,' was interviewed at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.

'Gangnam B-Side' is a thrilling crime drama that follows a detective, a prosecutor, and a mysterious broker as they chase hidden events in Gangnam, each for their own reasons. Jo Woo-jin plays Kang Dong-woo, an elite detective from the police academy, full of a sense of justice, who is on a mission to find Jae-hee, a club ace who disappeared in Gangnam.

Jo Woo-jin married his partner of 11 years in 2018, after registering their marriage before the ceremony, and they welcomed a daughter in 2017.

In the drama, Kang Dong-woo also has a daughter. Jo Woo-jin portrays the complex psychology of a father searching for his daughter, a victim of school violence, while investigating the dark underworld hidden behind Gangnam's glamorous facade, adding depth to the series.

As a father to a 7-year-old daughter, Jo Woo-jin shared, "I wonder what kind of father I should be when my daughter reaches adolescence. Right now, I'm a dad who is away from home for long periods due to filming. I just feel like a guilty dad," he admitted sheepishly. He continued, "It's important to be there for emotional support and physical affection, but I can't always be present, so I always feel sorry. Like many fathers, I work hard outside for my daughter and wife, but I feel guilty for not spending enough time at home." He also mentioned, "My daughter's existence greatly helped me in portraying the role of Kang Dong-woo."

Interestingly, his daughter is unaware that her father is an actor. Jo Woo-jin explained, "We turn off the TV at home," adding, "She just thinks I'm a dad who travels a lot for work." When asked if he intentionally kept it a secret, he replied, "It just happened that way. I have no rank at home. I do whatever the two ladies want," he laughed. He added, "For now, I just want to be my daughter's best friend," with a warm smile.
