The children of the late Shin Hae-chul expressed their longing for their father on the 265th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' which aired on the 16th. Shin Hae-chul's daughter, Shin Ha-yeon, and son, Shin Dong-won, who bear a striking resemblance to their father, appeared on the show. Upon their appearance, host Yoo Jae-suk remarked, 'For a moment, I thought Hae-chul was coming in,' unable to hide his surprise at the resemblance. Shin Ha-yeon, now 18 and in her third year of high school, shared that she recently received her ID card. Her brother, Shin Dong-won, introduced himself as a first-year high school student. Shin Ha-yeon mentioned, 'I flew from Jeju to Seoul first,' adding, 'I listened to my dad's second album, Jazz Cafe, on the way. I also listen to his songs on my way to school,' expressing her affection for her father's music. When asked about fans recognizing them, she said, 'There are people who recognize us in Seoul and Jeju. They often say, 'Shin Hae-chul was my youth. I'm happy to meet you,' and sometimes they even shed tears.' Shin Dong-won noted, 'Many people don't recognize me because my sister looks so much like our dad, but I resemble our mom more.' Shin Ha-yeon added, 'My brother resembles our dad during his Infinite Orbit days, while I resemble him during his N.E.X.T days. We have faces from different eras.' Yoo Jae-suk commented, 'When Ha-yeon smiles, she has a certain expression that reminds me of Hae-chul.'

The siblings explained their reason for appearing on the show, saying, 'It's our father's 10th anniversary, and we thought it would be special to come out.' Shin Dong-won recalled, 'I was seven when my father passed away. I vividly remember the moment I heard the news. My sister and I were playing with dolls in the living room when our mother came in crying and told us. My sister and mother cried a lot, but I didn't.' He continued, 'At seven, I didn't understand what death was. I couldn't comprehend the situation.' He shared, 'As time passed, I grew curious about what kind of person my dad was and missed the times when we were all together. I searched for him on the internet. During middle school, I read online encyclopedias and news articles, but I felt it was unfair that I had to learn about my dad this way instead of talking to him. There was so much I could have learned.' Shin Ha-yeon expressed, 'When I see a father and daughter holding hands while riding a bike, I feel envious. But I think if I live diligently, believing he's watching, I won't be embarrassed when we meet again.' She fondly remembered, 'I always slept with my dad. He snored loudly and played with us a lot. He told us many old stories and read fairy tales. He was a kind dad. Seeing him act cute with mom made me wonder why he had such a cool image outside. I think there are sides of him only I know,' she smiled.
