Actor Yeon Woo-jin Opens Up About Marriage and Career Reflections at 40

Born in 1984, actor Yeon Woo-jin has expressed a newfound openness to marrying a fellow actor now that he has reached the age of 40.

On the 14th, Yeon Woo-jin, along with co-stars Kim So-yeon and Kim Sung-ryung from JTBC's weekend drama 'Noble Sales', appeared on Shin Dong-yup's YouTube channel 'Jjanhanyoung Shin Dong-yup' to share various anecdotes.

Shin Dong-yup asked Yeon Woo-jin if he had ever considered marrying an actor. Yeon replied, "In the past, I didn't think about it. I thought it was better for my partner not to know too much about my work. It's a bit uncomfortable to show everything. But now that I'm 40, my thoughts have changed a bit."

Kim Sung-ryung shared, "In our generation, seniors often advised against marrying actors. But sometimes I envy younger colleagues who have married within the industry. My husband works in a completely different field."

Shin Dong-yup also asked Yeon Woo-jin if he would choose to be an actor again if he were reborn. Yeon humorously responded, "If I were born with this face again, I wouldn't waste the talent. Although my acting skills are lacking, I would trust and follow what my parents have given me."

Shin Dong-yup commented, "In the long run, looks are secondary. It's the charm and attraction of a person that matter. Sometimes, someone can be very handsome or beautiful, but the interest fades over time." He then reminisced with Yeon Woo-jin about his early days, saying, "You shot an independent film with Lee Je-hoon, right? It was a love story between Je-hoon and Woo-jin." Yeon recalled, "At that time, just the fact that I could act was enough for me."

Shin Dong-yup asked, "Did you and Je-hoon maintain etiquette during kiss scenes, like not smoking?" Yeon confessed, "I started smoking after that."

Yeon Woo-jin shared, "After my military discharge, I was thrilled to work on that film. I commuted to the film company alone, and fortunately, as the film was about to be released, word started spreading within the industry, leading me to my current agency." When Jung Ho-chul asked if rumors about his good looks started then, Yeon confidently replied, "Yes," eliciting laughter.
