Jang Su-won Faces Marital Strife Ahead of Wife's Childbirth

Jang Su-won and his wife are experiencing marital strife as they prepare for the birth of their child.

On the 23rd, SBS's variety show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' (hereafter 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2') featured Jang Su-won and Ji Sang-eun as a new couple.

Ji Sang-eun, wife of Sechs Kies member Jang Su-won, is a veteran stylist with 24 years of experience. She has worked with numerous celebrities including Shop, Baby V.O.X, Psy, Hong Kyung-min, Seo Taiji, Park Jin-young, Jung Kyung-ho, Kim Jae-wook, Park Hee-soon, Lee Yi-kyung, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Soo-hyuk. She also caught attention for her resemblance to actress Choi Kang-hee.

During the recording, Ji Sang-eun, who was a week away from giving birth, revealed that she had conceived after nine rounds of IVF treatments, introducing herself as the 'oldest mother in the entertainment industry.' Ji Sang-eun is 46 years old.

In the revealed footage, Jang Su-won shocked viewers by calling his wife 'grandma.' He continuously teased her, saying, 'I look younger, so it's fine,' as Ji Sang-eun couldn't dye her gray hair due to her pregnancy.

Special MC Eun Ji-won also revealed, 'He said it outside too. Didn't he ask the hairdresser to dye his grandma's hair?' adding to the embarrassment.

Ji Sang-eun shared, 'Because of my advanced maternal age, I thought I had to be cautious about everything. Despite people telling me to dye my gray hair, I didn't. I avoided foods that were said to be bad during pregnancy. The joy I felt from the baby's movements made it bearable.'

She continued, 'After getting married, I didn't want to rush into having a child. I was advised to try IVF immediately since natural conception might not be possible. I got pregnant on the first try, but it ended in a miscarriage as there was no baby in the gestational sac.'

Ji Sang-eun underwent 14 egg retrievals and 9 embryo transfers over two years. Jang Su-won revealed, 'My wife's belly was so bruised from the injections that there was no place left to inject.'

Despite the impending birth, Jang Su-won continued to make drinking plans, drawing criticism. He explained, 'I've been drinking a lot lately because I feel like I won't have time to meet people once the baby is born. Friends who recently had babies advised me to enjoy my time now because I won't be able to do anything after the baby arrives. I feel a sense of urgency, so I'm filling up my free days.'

After registering their marriage four years later, the couple planned to dine out, but Jang Su-won's friends showed up. He promised to be devoted to his family once the baby was born and returned home at 11 PM after drinking. He also tried to make plans for the 6th, three days before the baby's due date on the 9th, but was caught by his wife. Ji Sang-eun angrily said, 'Are you crazy? Get a grip. We have to go to the hospital on the 6th.'
