Jung Yu-mi, there's a reason why you exposed your chest
Jung Yoo-mi, who recently made headlines for her daring role in the TVING original drama 'The Queen Wu,' showcased her captivating charm in a new photoshoot.
On the 24th, 'Singles' magazine released a visual spread featuring Jung Yoo-mi, the lead actress of 'The Queen Wu.' In the photos, Jung exudes a mesmerizing and languid atmosphere, revealing a different side of her allure.
'The Queen Wu' is an action historical drama that follows the story of Queen Wu, who becomes the target of princes vying for the throne and five tribes seeking power after the sudden death of the king. She struggles to establish a new king within 24 hours.
When asked about her recent activities, Jung Yoo-mi shared, "After 'Partners for Justice Season 2' ended, I thought Season 3 would be produced immediately. However, as production kept getting delayed, I explored other projects and contemplated new aspects of my career as an actress during the five-year hiatus."
Jung continued, "In the past, I transitioned from playing mother roles to aunt roles, which allowed me to continue my acting career. Nowadays, such roles are decreasing. Although I felt a sense of disconnection due to my inability to quickly adapt to these changes during the hiatus, I still believe there are many possibilities open for me." When asked if her image transformation and realistic concerns influenced her choice of the next project, Jung Yoo-mi responded, "Yes. 'The Queen Wu' was released as an eight-episode drama, but the original script was much more intense and hard-hitting."
She added, "I didn't intend to show a transformation through exposure, but portraying the intense image of the character Wu Sun and acting out her desires and instincts was a significant challenge for me. Unlike the calm and righteous characters I've played before, playing a character driven by desire and instinct gave me more strength."
When asked how she wants to be remembered as an actress, Jung Yoo-mi said, "I want to be an actress who can get closer to people, not just someone who acts from a distance. Whether people recognize me or not, I hope to be remembered as a friendly actress as I grow older."
Meanwhile, Jung Yoo-mi has been publicly dating Kangta for four years. The couple initially denied dating rumors in 2019, but they confirmed their relationship eight months later after another round of rumors surfaced.
