Former Red Sox Member Jung Myung Reveals Reasons for Divorce
Former Red Sox member Jung Myung has opened up about the reasons behind her divorce.
On the 19th episode of MBN's 'Love After Divorce 6,' the reasons for the participants' divorces were revealed.
Jung Myung, who has been divorced for four years, shared that her ex-husband was her first love from high school. She reminisced, "He was my first love from high school. I really liked him." She continued, "My ex-husband came from a wealthy family, so we lived comfortably after marriage. All our living expenses were covered by my in-laws. In a way, they had control over our finances. We lived together, traveled together, and were always with my in-laws throughout our marriage."
Jung Myung added, "Although my mother-in-law is a good person, our relationship couldn't always be comfortable. Even when I went out, I had to inform my mother-in-law, not my husband, about when I would return. I felt like I had no personal life."
She also expressed her desire for her ex-husband to become financially independent, which never happened during their marriage.
Another reason for their divorce was a lack of communication. Jung Myung said, "I married him because I trusted him, but I wanted to see a more responsible side of him. If we had communicated better about our feelings, our marriage might have been better. But we didn't talk much." She admitted, "I should have helped him become independent, but because we were financially comfortable, I took things for granted. After the divorce, living on my own was very challenging. Now, I am grateful to my in-laws and want to succeed on my own."
Jung Myung went on a brunch date with Bomin. Jung Myung lives in Seoul, while Bomin resides in Yangsan. Jung Myung said, "Isn't the distance between us too far? We can't see each other often." Bomin responded, "Do we need to see each other often? How many times do couples meet in a week?" Jung Myung replied, "Once every week to ten days? That's quite often." Bomin agreed, "That's perfect," giving a thumbs up. He added, "I can adjust to anything." When Jung Myung mentioned she doesn't have weekends off, Bomin nodded, "Me neither."
During a surfing date, Jung Myung showed interest in Si Young. She said, "I like you. You're nice." However, Si Young shared in an interview with the production team, "I did feel her approaching me, but it felt a bit overwhelming."
