The Tugyeon couple clashed over asset division.

On the 12th, the JTBC entertainment show 'Divorce Mediation Camp' featured the final mediation session of the Tugyeon couple, Jin Hyun-geun and Gil Yeon-ju.

During a pre-mediation consultation with a lawyer, the wife stated, "My husband has habitually incurred debts at home. I want compensation for the mental distress caused by this." However, lawyer Yang Na-rae said it was impossible and added, "The concern is that we might have to pay alimony. Didn't you once send your husband to the emergency room by hitting him with a vacuum cleaner? That's considered aggravated assault. You might end up paying alimony." The wife, shocked, retorted, "I never thought of that. I also suffered as much."

The husband expressed his desire to resolve the bathroom issue, mentioning his wife's demand for outdoor defecation. He said, "Even if she uses the bathroom at home once or twice, she leaves the door wide open. I have to see her defecate." This revelation added to the shock.

When the wife asked if the husband could claim alimony for mental distress due to outdoor defecation, the lawyer responded, "This is a basic human right. It could be considered abuse. This is outrageous."

The divorce mediation then began. Both agreed that the husband, Jin Hyun-geun, would have custody of the children. The wife, Gil Yeon-ju, even stated that she would not see the children in exchange for not paying child support. However, the husband insisted on at least minimal child support.

The disagreement over money extended to asset division. The couple's total assets included a savings of 10 million KRW, a deposit of 15 million KRW, household appliances worth about 5 million KRW, and the husband's expected severance pay of 20 million KRW, totaling 50 million KRW.

The wife claimed, "The deposit and household appliances were provided by my mother, so I should take them." She also demanded 20 million KRW out of the remaining 30 million KRW, effectively an 80-20 split. This decision was reached after consulting with her lawyer. The wife wanted to take all of the husband's assets, arguing that he had verbally agreed to give her everything if they divorced.

However, the husband's lawyer stated that verbal agreements and written notes were invalid, explaining, "The wife is a homemaker, and the husband earns all the income. The assets were jointly accumulated, so the maximum she could get is 50%." The husband proposed a 60-40 split.

The wife's demand to receive the severance pay in a lump sum, even if it meant taking out a loan, was rejected. She insisted on receiving the savings in exchange for paying 300,000 KRW in monthly child support. After much back-and-forth, it was agreed that the wife would take the 30 million KRW in assets, and the husband would pay 300,000 KRW in monthly child support for 15 years.

After the third season of 'Divorce Mediation Camp' ended, the couples' lives were revealed a month later. While the Siwol and Gotseng couples were doing well, the Tugyeon couple's daily life was not disclosed. Both have unfollowed each other on social media, leading to speculation that they might have divorced. The husband stated, "I will update you on our status via social media soon."
