Song Kang-ho Confirmed to Star in Director Mo Wan-il's New Series 'Inside Men'
'Inside Men' (working title), the latest project by director Mo Wan-il, known for 'Nobody Knows', 'The World of the Married', and 'Misty', has confirmed the casting of actor Song Kang-ho.
The film 'Inside Men', which holds the record for the highest-grossing R-rated film and won Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Planning at the 53rd Grand Bell Awards, as well as Best Picture at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards, will be expanded into a series. The movie starred Lee Byung-hun, who delivered memorable lines such as 'Let's have a mojito in the Maldives'.
The OTT series 'Inside Men' (working title) will weave together events and characters from the 1980s and 1990s, focusing on the story of 'insiders'. Song Kang-ho will play the role of Lee Kang-hee, a figure who orchestrates and organizes the power dynamics in South Korea.
Song Kang-ho, known for his roles in blockbuster films like 'Parasite', 'A Taxi Driver', 'The Attorney', and 'The Host', is a leading figure in Korean cinema. He also won the Best Actor award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival for his performance in 'Broker'. He is expected to deliver another compelling performance in this series.
The series will be directed by Mo Wan-il, who has been recognized for his detailed portrayal of characters' psychology and the tense atmosphere in works like the Netflix series 'Nobody Knows' and dramas 'The World of the Married' and 'Misty'. He won the Best Director award in the TV category at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards. The script will be written by Lee Ki-cheol, known for 'Escape from Mogadishu', 'Assassination', and 'The Thieves'.
'Inside Men' (working title) will be produced by Hive Media Corp.
The series is currently in pre-production, aiming to start filming in 2025.
