Actress Lee Jung-eun recently mentioned the late Nam Moon-chul.
On the 27th, Lee Jung-eun met with TenAsia at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, to discuss various stories about Netflix's 'In the Woods with No One' (hereafter 'In the Woods').
'In the Woods' is a suspense thriller that tells the story of people whose peaceful lives are disrupted by a mysterious guest in the middle of summer, leading to uncontrollable events. In the series, Lee Jung-eun plays the role of Bomin, a former ace detective who persistently digs into and solves cases.
Lee Jung-eun expressed her special affection for 'In the Woods.' She said, "Regardless of the screen time, I wanted this story to be told. Although the pace is slow, I thought it was an essential story. It would be fun to only pick out the interesting parts," she continued, "The late actor Nam Moon-chul once told me that the fluorescent lights depicted in hospital scenes are not clichés. Having experienced illness, he said those scenes are necessary, which is why that cliché is used. 'In the Woods' felt similar to me."
Nam Moon-chul passed away in October 2021 after battling colon cancer. He was 50 years old. Nam Moon-chul made his screen debut in the 2002 film 'Turn on the Lighter' and appeared in dramas such as 'Chip In,' 'Six Flying Dragons,' 'Squad 38,' 'Age of Youth,' 'Suits,' 'The Nokdu Flower,' and films like 'Tune in for Love,' 'The Suspect,' 'The Priests,' 'Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage,' and 'Ashfall.' He was also active in the theater scene and made a special appearance in the film 'Young Adult Matters' this year.
