Actress Go Min-si Discusses Her Role in Netflix's 'In the Woods with No One'

On the 26th, actress Go Min-si, born in 1995, shared her thoughts at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, about her role in Netflix's 'In the Woods with No One'.
'In the Woods with No One' is a suspense thriller that tells the story of people whose peaceful lives are disrupted by a mysterious guest in the middle of summer, leading to uncontrollable events. In the drama, Go Min-si plays Seong-a, an uninvited guest who suddenly appears and shakes up the quiet life of Yeong-ha (played by Kim Yoon-seok).

Go Min-si continued, "This was the first time I took on a role with a deliberate makeover. It was new and fun. It was the richest character I've ever played, as I've always played poor roles." She added, "The head of the makeup team for 'Sweet Home' was the same. We discussed a lot to give a different feel from the previous work. We tried various things during test shoots, from the short bob hairstyle to numerous outfits."
Go Min-si shared advice she received from Kim Yoon-seok. She said, "Senior Yoon-seok told me that villains are lonely characters in a work. He said that if the audience feels even a little bit of sympathy, that's a good villain." She added, "I was advised to focus not on being bad but on conveying emotions in every scene."

Go Min-si has earned the nickname 'Netflix's daughter' for her performances in 'Love Alarm' and 'Sweet Home'. Regarding this, she said, "I want to be a filial daughter. It would be great to work joyfully and achieve good results. I want to continue working actively in Netflix projects and be a filial daughter."

When asked about her current status as an actress, Go Min-si said, "I think I'm an intern. I'm just starting to dream of a promotion. I hope I'm not a perpetual intern," she said with a laugh.
Last month, Go Min-si donated 50 million won to help neighbors affected by flood damage and was appointed as a member of the Honors Club. She has been consistently donating and making a positive impact since gaining recognition.
She said, "I've been greatly influenced by articles about senior actors' donations. I wanted to emulate them. Even if I don't have much, it feels really good to share. It wasn't regrettable at all. I hope it helps the world a little bit." She added, "I want to continue doing good deeds socially."

She also expressed her respect for Yeom Jung-ah and Kim Hye-soo, with whom she worked in 'Smuggling'. Go Min-si said, "The other day, they suggested we watch 'In the Woods with No One' together. After watching it, senior Kim Hye-soo said, 'It seems like Go Min-si's era has begun.' I was so overwhelmed that I said, 'I'm touched,' and she replied, 'You are more touching.'"
Throughout the interview, Go Min-si expressed her passion for acting. She said, "As an actress, I want to be seen in a completely different light with each project. I've never been afraid to throw myself into a role. Makeup and bold work are so fascinating. When I'm acting, I want to be open to how I look and how much I can change. It's just fun to take on challenges." She concluded by expressing her hopes for her future as an actress.
