Hong Jin-kyung's Hilarious Haircut Mishap

On the 23rd, the 8th episode of JTBC's variety show 'My Name is Gabriel' featured the ongoing stories of Rwandan model Hong Jin-kyung and Ji Chang-wook, a Mexican farmer and chaebol son-in-law.
Hong Jin-kyung, who began her modeling career in Kigali, Rwanda, visited a hair salon for a bold transformation ahead of a casting audition. As the hairstylist started cutting her hair with stationery scissors, Hong Jin-kyung closed her eyes tightly. Upon seeing her new hairstyle, she couldn't hide her dismay, exclaiming, "I look like Maenggu!" Her antics, which had viewers in stitches, continued in this episode. She humorously asked, "This isn't broadcasted in Korea, right?" When Rwandans mentioned their love for Lee Min-ho and the drama 'The Legend of the Blue Sea,' Hong Jin-kyung quipped, "I played the beggar in that show," causing a stir.
Her close friends Helvin and Kevine accompanied her to the casting audition. The first stop was an audition with Rwandan designer Mateo. Hong Jin-kyung took her turn seriously, showcasing an impressive walk and amusingly mouthing "Wow" to the designer. Defconn joked, "I thought she was a fish," to which Hong Jin-kyung replied, "When you're desperate, you'll do anything," leaving everyone in stitches. At the second audition, her outfit, inspired by the Rwandan flag, caught everyone's attention. Her understanding of the designer's intent earned her praise.

The next day, Hong Jin-kyung visited her mother's restaurant to teach her a new potato pancake recipe. Her mother, eager to learn, was impressed by the delicious taste. Hong Jin-kyung then made rice balls with warm rice and savory tuna, delighting her mother and friends with K-food. However, news of her friends' casting success left Hong Jin-kyung anxious as she awaited her own results.
