‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ Enters Netflix Global Non-English TOP 10 at 5th Place
‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ has entered the Netflix Global Non-English TOP 10 at 5th place, marking a significant step towards global success.
‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ (directed by Yoo Je-won, written by Shin Ha-eun, produced by Studio Dragon & The Modori) is a tumultuous neighborhood romance about a woman trying to reboot her flawed life and her living dark past, ‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’. It is currently airing domestically and internationally through tvN, TVING, and Netflix.
On the 21st (Wednesday), Netflix released its Global TOP 10 Series (Non-English) ranking (for the period of August 12th to August 18th), and ‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ ranked 5th globally. Considering that the first episode was released on the 17th (Saturday), this achievement was made in just two days.
According to FlixPatrol, a global OTT platform ranking service, ‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ has ranked in the TOP 10 in 75 countries worldwide, including major Western countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Canada, and Australia.
Meanwhile, the second episode of ‘Mom’s Friend’s Son’ aired on tvN on the 18th (Sunday) recorded an average of 6.7% and a peak of 7.8% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and an average of 6.0% and a peak of 6.9% nationwide, securing the top spot in its time slot across cable and general programming channels. Additionally, in the 3rd week of August, it ranked 2nd in the TV-OTT integrated buzzworthiness announced by FUNdex, the official platform of Good Data Corporation, a specialized K-content competitiveness research institute. In terms of cast buzzworthiness, Jung So-min (1st place) and Jung Hae-in (2nd place) were listed side by side.
