Do Kyung-wan confesses to battling acute osteomyelitis

Do Kyung-wan, a former announcer and broadcaster, confessed to being battling acute osteomyelitis.

In the Channel A program 'Best Friend Documentary - Table for 4' (hereafter referred to as 'Table for 4') aired on the 12th, Oh Jeong-yeon was shown inviting Yoon Hee-jung, Lee Ji-ae, and Do Kyung-wan to her house.

On this day, Do Kyung-wan revealed that during his days as a KBS announcer, he was the 'host who called for resignation' and said, "Oh Jung-yeon is a year younger than me, but she is my senior. She looked after me a lot, but she was also a senior who kept me in check." Oh Jung-yeon claimed, "Kyung-wan checked on my mood every day. If he seemed to be having a hard time, he brought me delicious things."

Do Kyung-wan said he has no hobbies and said, “Last year, I went to an orthopedic clinic because something grew under my fingernail, and I had to undergo surgery that required hospitalization. A week later, when I went to the hospital to change the dressing, my finger was covered in pus. The situation got worse and I had to go to a general hospital.”

It turned out to be acute osteomyelitis of the finger. Do Kyung-wan explained, "Pulmonary tuberculosis was found in the bone. I made a hole in the finger bone, drained the blood and pus, sent it for a biopsy, and underwent surgery five times. They said it is a very rare and immortal bacteria. I have to get an intravenous injection once a day. I asked the professor to take care of the children and he said that there was no one else to take care of the children, so I changed it to oral medication."

He said that his tears, urine, and stool were all red due to the side effects of antibiotics. Do Kyung-wan was upset, saying, "My kidneys and renal function also deteriorated. My fingernails grew, but they grew in strange shapes." However, Do Kyung-wan said, "I paid the hospitalization fee with my wife's card, and the insurance money came out after the treatment."

Do Kyung-wan, who received about 3 million won in insurance money into his bank account, said, "I went straight to the department store. An advertisement for a wristwatch caught my eye. After purchasing one with the insurance money, my interest in watches grew," and "After being discharged from the hospital, I collected about ten rare vintage watches."

When asked if he could buy something better for his wife, Jang Yoon-jeong, Do Kyung-wan responded with satisfaction, saying, “Rather than buying her one good thing, I think it’s better to feel that she has this kind of charm.”
