Kim Hak-rae, CEO with annual sales of 10 billion won was a sports car owner
Kim Hak-rae recalled his dating days with Lim Mi-sook.
Kim Hak-rae appeared as a guest in episode 91 of tvN STORY's 'Chairman's People', which aired on the 8th.
While the entire family was busy planting rice, a man appeared in a sports car. It was comedian Kim Hak-rae.
Hak-rae Kim runs a Chinese restaurant with annual sales of 10 billion won with his wife, Mi-sook Lim. Imho expressed his gratitude, saying, "You run a Chinese restaurant. I took my parents to eat here a few times, and they provided good service every time we went. It was delicious."
Kim Yong-gun praised him, saying, “He drives a nice car, is stylish, and only wears luxury items.” Kim Hak-rae joked, "What a good car. Is there anyone who doesn't drive one? I bought a small sports car," causing laughter. When the production crew said, “You came in a cool car,” Kim Hak-rae laughed and said, “It’s not that cool, and I picked a car that kids drive.”
Hak-rae Kim married Mi-sook Lim in 1990. They are the second comedian couple, following Choi Yang-rak and Pang Hyeon-sook, and have been married for 34 years.
Hak-rae Kim revealed that he proposed to Mi-sook Lim first. Kim Hak-rae said that he encouraged people around him to become romantically involved, saying, "(while programming together), people keep an eye on them, and people around them always initiate marriage when it comes to things like that."
Kim Hak-rae said, "One day, I thought about it and realized that there aren't many women who are that good at it and don't get scolded by their seniors or juniors. So, as a joke, I asked, 'Would you like to marry me?' “I threw it,” he recalled. He continued, “So Lim Mi-sook said, ‘Oppa, I’m going to go to the person who goes to church.’” He added, “The next day, I bought a large Bible and put it next to me as I entered the comedian room, and said, ‘Guys, call me Peter.’” He laughed. He also said, “What could happen all of a sudden? (Im Mi-sook) said she only thought of me as a senior and didn’t think about marriage,” and added, “I even wrote a letter.”
Kim Hak-rae brought out the love letter and photos he had written at the time. There was also a love letter written quoting Bible verses. Kim Hak-rae recalled, “What must it have been like to win a woman’s heart?”
