Lim Ye-jin revealed that she was robbed when she was newlyweds
Lim Ye-jin appeared as a guest on KBS2's 'Park Won-sook's Let's Live Together', which aired on the 13th.
Lim Ye-jin married MBC producer Choi Chang-wook in 1989. The meeting between a teen star and a producer at the time became a hot topic.
Park Won-sook said, "I was actually a little disappointed when I heard that Ye-jin was marrying a producer. I was like, 'Why Ye-jin?', but in hindsight, I think it was wise." Ahn Moon-sook asked, “How did you come up with the idea of marrying a producer?”
Lim Ye-jin said, "Ever since I was young, I thought I wanted to marry a salaryman. I wanted to marry someone who led a regular life. My father also influenced me. I liked salarymen who received a fixed salary every month, no matter how much it was. When I was young, my salary was 1 million won. “I thought if I brought it to them, I would be able to live well enough,” he said. She continued, "Honestly, I had no sense of finances. Until I got married, I received pocket money from my mother and used it. After I got married in 1989, my husband's monthly salary was about 1.12 million won. After paying part of it as a car loan, the first month's living expenses were over 2 million won. “I knew something was wrong,” he confessed. However, Lim Ye-jin said, "Still, I am happy because my husband brought me a salary until retirement age. Isn't our money irregular?"
Lim Ye-jin revealed that when she was newlywed, she was robbed by a criminal who targeted celebrity couples. Lim Ye-jin said, "My husband asked me to bring 10 million won and contribute to the newlywed house, so my mother added 10 million won so that my son-in-law would not be discouraged. That's how we started (with a 20 million won lease). But within 2-3 months of getting married, “There was a burglary in the house,” he said. She then recalled the dizzying moment, saying, "As soon as my husband went to work, he gave my husband's name and said he was visiting a friend from the country. When I opened the door, he covered my mouth and stole all my things."
Lim Ye-jin said, "He had been checking and preparing for work times in front of my house for several days. I wasn't hurt, but I was so shocked that I fainted. They held something like a knife to my face." He then confessed, "I was traumatized after that day. That's why I had children a little later."
It is said that the robber at the time selected a list of celebrities and targeted couples who had not been married for a long time. Lim Ye-jin said, “I lived much more cautiously.”
