‘Minimum salary → full donation’ Choo Shin-soo “Even if I die tomorrow, I want to play baseball”
Baseball player Choo Shin-soo shares his thoughts on retiring after the 2024 season on 'Salimnam'.

On the afternoon of the 6th, KBS 2TV's 'Men Who Do Housework Season 2' (hereinafter referred to as 'Salimnam') posted a pre-release video of Choo Shin-soo, who is newly joining the show.

The video contains Choo Shin-soo's honest feelings as he ends his active duty career at the end of this year. Previously, Choo Shin-soo attracted attention by signing a contract with the club and juniors for the minimum salary and announcing his intention to donate the entire amount. He revealed the story behind the season extension, saying, "I thought about retiring after SSG Landers' win in 2022, but I hoped I would receive a little more applause from the club."

Choo Shin-soo also revealed moments in his baseball life that he would like to return to. “The last major league game was played without spectators due to COVID-19. It’s a pity that if the audience had been able to come, I wouldn’t have received a little more applause,” he said.

Shin-Soo Choo then showed his sincerity toward baseball, saying in front of his family, "Honestly, I want to play baseball until I die. Even if I die tomorrow, I want to continue playing baseball." Nevertheless, the real reason why he had no choice but to quit being a baseball player was filled with despair as he held back tears and was unable to finish speaking.

Choo Shin-soo's inner thoughts, which he could not tell anywhere, can be confirmed on KBS 2TV's 'Salimnam', which will be broadcast at 9:45 pm on the 10th (Wednesday).
