‘Grand Prize Candidate’ Choi Soo-jong “I am proud to say I read the script 50 times more than others”

Soo-jong Choi, a strong candidate for the grand prize, appeared as the presenter of the writer award.

On the 31st, the '2023 KBS Drama Awards' awards ceremony was held at the KBS new building in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Broadcaster Jang Seong-gyu and actors Rowoon and Seol In-ah hosted the event.

Choi Soo-jong, who presented the Writer's Award, said, "I'm nervous. One of the reasons I'm nervous is because actors from dramas I enjoy are gathered here, so I'm excited just to see them. Yui from 'Filial Filial Piety' is watching well. Why is the 'Goryeo Khitan War' team here? “Is it true?” he said.

He continued, "I debuted in 1987 with KBS' 'Tree Where Love Blossoms'. That year, the KBS Drama Awards began for the first time. Since then, I have worked in 7 works on KBS. I have been attracting viewers with a variety of works ranging from one-act plays to historical dramas. I went. I received a lot of love while playing various characters, and I think the reason I was able to receive love even though I was just one of the members in the work was because of the hard work of many staff members,” he added.

He said, "There are many times when I feel the power of the writer greatly. The script is what I spend the most time with. As I study and think about it, I am proud to read the script 10 to 50 times more than others," and "I convey my respect for the writers." Finished.

The writer's honor went to Lee Jeong-woo, author of 'The Goryeo Khitan War.' Writer Lee Jeong-woo, who wrote 'The Goryeo Khitan War' following 'Taejo Lee Bang-won', was unable to attend due to personal reasons, so producer Jeon Woo-seong accepted the award on his behalf.
