‘KBS Grand Prize’ Lee Seung-gi “Fighting for my juniors”
They jointly received the grand prize at the '2022 KBS Drama Awards', which was broadcast live at KBS Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul at 9:30 pm on the 31st.
‘Taejo Lee Bang-won’ Joo Sang-wook said, “The waiting time from the beginning until now has been very difficult. It seems like 25 years ago. He made his debut by appearing in a minor role in a KBS youth drama. This is how I received an award from KBS. “I am so grateful,” he said. “The KBS historical drama was revived after 5 years, and while acting when I was young, I thought, ‘If I continue acting, will I get a chance to play a role like that?’ I think there was a time when I vaguely thought, ‘I wish I could do that.’ In fact, I got to play a wonderful role in this epic historical drama. However, the weight and pressure of this epic historical drama was so difficult that I could not handle it alone. It was very difficult to film every day. At that time, there were so many seniors and juniors who were always by my side, supporting and helping me like real brothers and real family. “It’s hard to name each person because there are so many, but I think we were able to finish well until the end because of those people.”
He continued, "To the viewers who loved the epic historical drama, thank you for watching until the end. I am grateful and grateful to my company family who are always supportive. My dear mother, I am so grateful for your health and I love you so much. I love my daughter who still doesn't know what her father does and my mother-in-law who takes care of her. I always love you." “I love Cha Ye-ryun, the one and only wife in the world who is by my side,” he said.
'Love According to the Law' Lee Seung-gi said, "I'm really nervous. This year was the hardest year of my life. I think this award reflects the efforts of those who appeared in the same work." He added, "I think the grand prize has many different meanings. , I think I received it thanks to the efforts of the staff rather than the outstanding acting skills of an individual. The director said that KBS has produced a profitable drama for the first time in the past few years.”
Lee Seung-gi confessed, “Actually, I think I’ve thought about hundreds of times whether I should come to the Drama Awards today or ask for understanding and not attend.” He added, “As many of you know, I have personal issues to attend, so coming to a festival like this and just smiling made me feel sad and expressionless. As I was sitting there, I felt like it wasn't the right thing to do, so I acted a lot on a whim. There is one reason why I decided to come here. Since dramas are created by teams, I came with the mindset that the sweat and effort of the drama should not be neglected due to personal problems. “Thank you for the great award,” he said.
He said, “No matter what award I received, I had to give a short speech, but the first thing that struck me when I came here was seeing my fellow seniors and juniors sitting in the audience at the awards ceremony, and I was very moved. I think that our country's content, movies, pop songs, and entertainment are currently rising to the global ranks, and I know that my fellow seniors and juniors here are working hard. I promise again today that I should not pass on to my juniors who will be sitting here next year, the year after, 10, or 20 years from now. The support of many people was a great help. I am grateful to the many people who love our drama, who have continued to work hard and supported me as an actor. Since I am receiving this award on behalf of the ‘Love According to the Law’ team, I will enjoy the company dinner. “I will shoot without limit,” he confessed.
