‘Wedding Battle’ Son Sang-yeon, the classic example of a younger man
In the 5th episode of KBS 2TV's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Wedding Battle' that aired on the 13th, a scene was depicted where Lee Si-yeol (played by Son Sang-yeon) stumbled upon Maeng Doo-ri (played by Park Ji-won) tripping over a stone and held her by wrapping her arms around her shoulders. He made people's hearts flutter with his manly appearance of hugging his forehead while politely saying, "Excuse me for a moment." Lee Si-yeol's warm and calm voice, as well as his kindness in carefully examining the other person, caught the attention of viewers with his pure charm, raising the drama's excitement level.
In particular, Lee Si-yeol, who showed the side of a straight-laced scholar and said, “I learned that there is no regret if you express sorry, gratitude, and love right away,” was embarrassed when he heard Maeng Doo-ri’s age, but pretended to be calm and made people laugh by saying that he was the same age. In addition, he even suggests that they do tapdori together, but the awkwardness of looking at Maeng Du-ri's back with regretful eyes as she turns away resolutely adds to the sadness.
In this way, through Lee Si-yeol in the play, Son Sang-yeon shows both the appearance of a simple yet strong scholar and the youthful charm of a young boy, making a lasting impression on viewers. In particular, he radiates affectionate and deep eyes every time he appears, adding warmth, raising expectations to see how the romance of Lee Si-yeol, the unblinking ‘younger man from Joseon’, will end.
