Stars who step forward to help Turkye and Syria

On the 9th, actress Lee Hye-ri participated in emergency relief for children affected by the earthquake in Turkye and Syria and donated 50 million won. The funds Hyeri Lee delivered through UNICEF will be used in full for emergency relief projects such as nutrition, drinking water, and protection for children affected by the Turkiye and Syria earthquakes.
Hyeri Lee, who became the youngest person to join the Honors Club, a group of major donors to UNICEF Korea in 2019, donated 100 million won to ‘Schools for ASIA’, a project to support education for Asian children in 2019, and 50 million won to a hygiene project for girls in 2021. We have continued to support children around the world by donating won.
Hyeri Lee said, “I heard that emergency relief is urgently needed due to the major earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Although we cannot go directly to provide emergency relief for children and basic protection facilities such as food and water for children who have lost their homes, we would like to contribute to UNICEF's activities. “I hope that many people will pay attention to the devastation caused by the earthquake and lend a helping hand.”
Actress Yoo In-na also announced that she donated 30 million won, asking for it to be used to help recover from earthquake damage in Turkey and Syria.
An official from YG Entertainment, Yoo In-na's agency, said, "Yoo In-na participated in the donation with the hope that it would be of some help to the two countries and victims who suffered great damage from the large-scale earthquake."
Actress Shin Min-ah also recently donated 50 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, asking it to be used for recovery in Turkiye and Syria, which were damaged by the earthquake.
Shin Min-ah decided to participate with the hope that no additional damage would occur, asking for appropriate support to be provided to victims who lost their homes due to a sudden large earthquake. Hope Bridge plans to use the donation to rebuild the damaged areas of Turkiye and Syria, according to Shin Min-ah's wishes.
Hope Bridge Secretary General Kim Jeong-hee said, "We are grateful to actress Shin Min-ah for participating in the donation," and added, "Hope Bridge will do our best to help the victims recover their daily lives in cooperation with local embassies, Korean associations, and relief organizations."
Previously, broadcaster Jang Seong-gyu also donated 23 million won from YouTube to help Turkye and Syria, which were damaged by the earthquake. Singer and actor Yang Dong-geun also met with Ambassador Murat Tamer at the Turkic Embassy in Jangchung-dong, Seoul and donated 10 million won, saying, "Please use it for the Turkic people who were damaged by the earthquake." Rapper Dindin also donated 10 million won. “I hope I can be of some help, and I hope that we can return to our warm daily lives as soon as possible. I hope that there will be no further damage,” he wrote, and donated 10 million won to the Korean Red Cross. Actor Im Si-wan and Winner member Kim Jin-woo also donated 10 million won each.
Meanwhile, the death toll from a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck southern Turkiye and northern Syria in the early morning of the 6th (local time) exceeded 7,800.
