'Understanding Love' Jung Ga-ram "Moon Ga-young is younger than me, but she's mature."
On the 8th, I met actor Jeong Garam at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul and conducted an interview for the end of the JTBC Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Love Understanding'.
'Understanding Love' is a melodrama that tells the story of people with different interests meeting and understanding the true meaning of love. In the play, Jeong Ga-ram played the role of Jeong Jong-hyeon, a petition police officer at the KCU Bank Yeongpo branch and a police officer exam student.
Jeong Ga-ram chose So Kyung-pil (played by Moon Tae-yu), who lied about having spent the night with Ahn Soo-young (played by Moon Ga-young), as the most incomprehensible character in 'Understanding Love'. He said, "I thought it was the key to ending the whole situation, but I didn't know why I suddenly dug into it or what emotions I had. I thought it was bad. Sunbaenim Tae-yu Moon was so good at acting that I was able to empathize with him. That’s it. I thought Jonghyun was a person who could be worthy of real life even though he was a bit boring and had a lot of qualifications, but Kyungpil didn’t understand at all,” he explained.
Were Sooyoung’s feelings for Jonghyun love or pity? Jeong Garam said, "When Sooyoung thought about Jonghyun, I don't think the man was completely unattractive. I think compassionate love is also love."
"If I were to protect Jonghyun as the person who played him, Jonghyun was too young. That's why I think I feel sorry for the other person. In the final ending, Jonghyun, who has become a police officer, is directing traffic, and Sooyoung watches from afar and their eyes meet. He smiles. I think that smile was the true feeling of a mother bird letting her baby birds out of the nest. There are many things I did not do for the person I once loved, I was immature, and I made many mistakes, but I am a grateful person and the person who helped Jonghyun grow. ."
What was it like working with the actors? Jeong Garam said, "It was my first time working with actor Yoo Yeon-seok, but he had worked in many major projects, so I felt familiar with him. He was my senior for a long time, so I was nervous, but he treated me comfortably." He added, "At the beginning of the drama, Jonghyun felt respect for Sang-su and wanted to become an adult like him." I think so. In fact, I thought a lot about wanting to become an actor like that after seeing senior Yeonseok, who was always bright and set the mood as a leader on set."
He continued, "Moon Ga-young is younger than me, but she is much more senior than me. What's interesting is that Soo-young is older than me in the play, so even in Ga-young's atmosphere, I felt like she was mature and someone I could trust and rely on. Soo-young, played by Ga-young, was a warm person to me. “He added.
Regarding his chemistry with Keum Sae-rok, whom he had become close friends with through the movie 'Solo Battle', he said, "I was so happy to meet him this time. We didn't have a lot of encounters on set, but the look in his eyes was so good in the scene where he asks Jonghyun how he and Sooyoung are doing. This time, 'Love' While watching 'Understanding', I felt that Keum Sae-rok's acting energy was really good. Although he is a friend, I thought he was cool as a professional," he praised.
