‘Goryeo Khitan War’ Lee Won-jong, feels the spirit of a general
Actor Lee Won-jong of 'Goryeo Khitan War' transforms into 'Gang Jo,' a loyal general of Goryeo.
KBS 2TV's new epic historical drama 'Goryeo Khitan War' (written by Lee Jeong-woo/directed by Jeon Woo-sung, Kim Han-sol/produced by Monster Union and Viv Studios), a special project for the 50th anniversary of KBS Public Broadcasting, scheduled to be broadcast for the first time at 9:25 pm on November 11, is a public broadcast. This work tells the story of Emperor Hyeonjong of Goryeo, who brought Goryeo together and led it to victory in the war against the Khitan through his leadership, and Gang Gam-chan, his political teacher and commander-in-chief of the Goryeo army.
Lee Won-jong played the role of Gang Jo, who put an end to the chaos within the imperial family and established Wang Sun as emperor. However, Gang Jo causes a coup and gives the Khitan a justification for a second invasion. Accordingly, he is a person who struggles to protect Goryeo as an honest loyalist, including heading directly to the battlefield to repel the Khitan.
In the still released today (4th), Lee Won-jong is wearing armor and official uniform perfectly, overwhelming all eyes with his appearance that clearly shows the spirit of a general. In particular, the sight of him staring somewhere with his sharp eyes while keeping his mouth shut gives a strong charisma.
Expectations are high on what Lee Won-jong, who has built a solid career by appearing in various historical dramas, will show through 'Goryeo Khitan War' and the kind of emphasis he will portray.
The production team of ‘Goryeo Khitan War’ said, “Actor Lee Won-jong always brightens the atmosphere on set with his passionate side. Moreover, Wonjong Lee is an actor with overwhelming acting skills that go back and forth between delicacy and intensity. “Please stay tuned and look forward to what he sees in Jo Jung-ho and how he will portray it.”
