Ahn Hyo-seop "Production of 'Partner Kim 3'? Expected around the end of season 2"
SBS' new Friday-Saturday drama 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3', which will be aired for the first time on April 28, is a drama depicting the story of a 'real doctor' set in a shabby Doldam Hospital in the countryside. Season 1, which aired in 2016, and Season 2, which aired in 2020, received great love with a peak viewer rating of over 27%, making it a success story for Korean season dramas. Season 3 will be released in 2023 after 3 years.
Ahn Hyo-seop plays the role of Seo Woo-jin, a GS (general surgery) specialist, and joined season 3 following season 2. In the play, Seo Woo-jin becomes a soldier to make a living, but after meeting Master Kim, he is reborn as a 'real doctor' who saves people. Ahn Hyo-seop, who was attempting his first medical drama at the time, boasted stable acting and a warm doctor's gown fit, and received the response that he had met the 'character of his life'. Since then, he has established himself as a popular actor with SBS's 'Hong Cheon-ki' and 'In-house Confrontation' being successively successful.
Meanwhile, Ahn Hyo-seop excited drama fans by returning in a doctor's gown with the news of the production of 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3'. We asked Ahn Hyo-seop what the 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim' series means to him and what he will show in Season 3.
Ahn Hyo-seop said about his first filming site at Doldam Hospital after returning after three years, “I think it was hectic to see and say hello to all the familiar faces. “Because it was Doldam Hospital, I was able to quickly immerse myself in Woojin’s life as my body and mind remembered.”
Regarding whether he expected production of season 3, Ahn Hyo-seop said, “It started with something someone lightly said in private at the end of season 2. At that time, I remember all the actors and production staff coming together with the aspiration of ‘Let’s definitely return to Doldam someday.’ “I was always thinking, ‘Someday,’” he said. “The reason I decided to join Season 3 is simple. “It’s because I’m attracted to it and I’m happy,” he said, expressing his affection.
Regarding the driving force behind 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim' being loved for so long that season 3 was produced, Ahn Hyo-seop said, "The first is the human story that 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim' deals with, what we should value in our lives, and I think it was possible because the messages it sends to the world about why we have to live like that are topics that allow us (viewers) to think about the direction of our lives. The second is the strong unified will of the ‘Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim’ team, including the director, writer, actors, and production crew.”
Han Seok-gyu, who plays Master Kim, the ‘eternal teacher’ of the Doldam family, is said to be Master Kim himself even on set. His mere presence is a great help to the actors. Ahn Hyo-seop said, “Master always says good things anytime, anywhere. “He tells us many stories with respect about how we should live as actors and people,” he said, conveying the warm chemistry that continues even outside of the drama.
Regarding what he will show in Season 3, Ahn Hyo-seop said, “The form of the world that Woojin sees has changed. “You will be able to see Woojin having a broader outlook on life, strengthened by internal maturity and solidity,” he said. “(Three years have passed in Season 2) All the characters choose their own paths and show changes. . “I hope you will look forward to the process of living the ‘life now’ hard and growing along that path,” he said.
‘Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3’ will premiere on April 28 at 10 PM.
