Choi Soo-jong and Ha Hee-ra's words are top priority
MBC's 'Radio Star', which aired on the 26th, featured a special feature called 'Ta-da, My Way' featuring Choi Soo-jong, Park Young-jin, Shuka, and Kwak Yoon-gi.
‘King of Historical Dramas’ Choi Soo-jong announced that he will appear in a historical drama for the first time in 10 years. Choi Soo-jong plays the role of General Kang Gam-chan in ‘Goryeo Khitan War’. He said, “After ‘The Great King’s Dream,’ I was physically injured and tired, so I said, ‘I will never do a historical drama again.’ But when I looked at the script, I realized it wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t me.”
Choi Soo-jong, who played an active role as a 'king professional actor' in historical dramas, said that he started acting in historical dramas after MBC's 'Hanjungnok'. He recalled being teased by senior actors because of his acting tone that did not suit a historical drama, and confessed the hardships he experienced while acting. Choi Soo-jong, who was embarrassed about acting at the time, said, "After Crown Prince Sado, it was Cheoljong. Cheoljong lived outside the palace, so it was easy to act at that time."
Choi Soo-jong announced that he and his wife Ha Hee-ra celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year. Choi Soo-jong said, "Ha Hee-ra's name is saved as 'Oh My Love' on my phone. I wanted to give her a hat as a gift, so I got a hat with the abbreviation 'ONSR' written on it."
It is said that Choi Soo-jong got a drone license because of Ha Hee-ra. He said, "Ha Hee-ra saw a video of a couple filmed with a drone and said, 'I want to travel around and take pictures like this.' The very next day, I started learning how to use a drone and even got a license. Now, when I go to places with beautiful scenery, I shoot videos with a drone." revealed his appearance. When MC Kim Gook-jin asked, “Have you received anything from Ha Hee-ra?” Choi Soo-jong responded, “I receive love,” drawing admiration.
Choi Soo-jong surprised people by revealing his thrifty side. He said, "I don't buy new things, clothes, shoes, etc." and revealed that he has been using the shoes and tie he bought at the beginning of his marriage for 30 years. However, Choi Soo-jong, who only has an open wallet for his wife, Ha Hee-ra, made people laugh by confessing his true feelings, saying, "When ordering food, I thought to myself when I saw that people were ordering more food than the number of people."
It is said that Choi Soo-jong's old item that Ha Hee-ra hates is his underwear. Choi Soo-jong said, "I get cold a lot, so I wear 4 basic pairs of underwear when filming a historical drama. No matter how good the material is, it creates lint, but what about wearing it underneath? I've been wearing it for 15 years. The elastic band got tattered. A few days ago, I changed the elastic band. “I changed it. Ha Hee-ra told me to please throw it away,” he said.
MC Kim Gura asked, “Doesn’t Ha Hee-ra like luxury goods?” Choi Soo-jong made people laugh by saying, "Thankfully, I don't like those things. Ha Hee-ra has skin allergies. I can't wear earrings, necklaces, or watches. Thank you."
