Why is ‘Woo Young-woo’ in ‘Teacher Kim 3’? A connected worldview

Actors 'Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo' made a special appearance in 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3' and attracted attention.

SBS' Friday-Saturday drama 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3' returned after three years and started the 'romantic craze' again. In the first week of broadcast, it recorded viewership ratings of 14.3% in the metropolitan area, 13.8% nationwide, and a peak of 16.5% (based on Nielsen Korea), ranking first among all mini-series dramas broadcast in one week. The 2049 viewership rating, which is a key indicator of channel competitiveness and topicality, was 5.1%, ranking first among all programs broadcast in one week, demonstrating its popularity.

In episode 2, which aired on April 29, many actors from ‘Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo’ appeared. Ha Yoon-kyung, Joo Jong-hyuk, Joo Hyun-young, Moon Sang-hoon, and Lim Seong-jae appeared as interviewers for new doctors at Doldam Hospital and conducted an interview with Master Kim (played by Han Seok-gyu).

Ha Yoon-kyung and Joo Jong-hyuk's 'Hanbadaz' lawyers' transformation into doctors was a surprising and entertaining twist. 'Spring Sunshine' Ha Yoon-kyung made everyone laugh by brightly asserting, "I have the experience of going on a week-long overseas training. It's enough time to change your life." Joo Jong-hyuk naturally continued his 'conspiratorial and manipulative' character by saying, "If that's how much your salary is, how much do you get paid?" and "If the manager is Boo Yong-ju (Master Kim), wouldn't he get a bad name when he opens a clinic?"

'Circle' Joo Hyun-young burst into tears during an interview, putting Teacher Kim in trouble. Moon Sang-hoon, who played the role of Kim Jeong-hoon, a ‘Pengsu Lover’ with autism spectrum disorder, and Lim Seong-jae, a ‘hairy president’, made everyone laugh by giving strange answers.

The reason why the 'Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo' family made a special appearance in 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3' was because of director Yoo In-sik, who directed both works. Director Yoo In-sik also has a history of winning the Directing Award in the TV category at the 53rd and 59th Baeksang Arts Awards twice, for 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 1' and 'Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo', respectively. Viewers showed various reactions, such as “The clash of worldviews between ‘Romantic Doctor’ and ‘Woo Young-woo’ was fun,” and “It’s a great drama combination.”

In the interview room swept by the 'Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo' family, Lee Seon-woong (played by Lee Hong-nae), who appeared as a military doctor in the first episode, appeared as the last applicant. Seonwoong Lee appears to have been greatly impressed by Sabu Kim's amazing surgery and applied, raising expectations of joining Doldam Hospital. In episode 3, where all members of Doldam Hospital's 'Doldam Jus' are gathered together, Doldam Hospital is expected to be in chaos due to the arrival of Cha Jin-man (played by Lee Kyung-young), who requests that Master Kim be excluded from the trauma center.

‘Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3’ depicts the story of a ‘real doctor’ taking place in a shabby local Doldam Hospital, and episode 3 will air at 10 PM on the 5th.
