Reporter Kang Min-kyung Ten Asia selects only the contents of OTT, such as Netflix and Teabing, which are full of numerous contents. From must-see masterpieces to highly anticipated new works, we recommend works that can be enjoyed in the first row in the corner of the room.
From a certain moment, you can often see bromance (a compound word of masculine and romance) and womanance (a compound word of woman and romance) in your works. Since the target audience is female viewers, bromance has become 'essential'.
You can also get a glimpse of the bromance in 'Hounds', which was released in 190 countries around the world through Netflix on June 9th. The protagonist of the bromance is Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang. The two are comparable to Seol Kyung-gu, Im Si-wan, Park Seo-joon, and Kang Ha-neul, who previously built a fandom through romance.
Based on Naver's webtoon of the same name, 'Hounds' tells the story of two young men caught up in the world of private loans where money comes before people's lives and risking their lives against a huge force of evil. In fact, there were twists and turns until 'Hounds' came out.
In May of last year, while filming 'Hounds', Kim Sae-ron was driving drunk at Hak-dong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and crashed several times into roadside trees and transformers. The court sentenced Kim Sae-ron to a fine of 20 million won. Kim Sae-ron's length was not edited.
Director Kim Joo-hwan, who was in charge of directing, said, "Actually, I thought a lot." He said, "I put a lot of effort into minimizing the inconvenience. A lot of people put in thousands or tens of thousands of hours to complete the work." He added, "In order not to do that, the story had to be intact. So I did my best to improve the completeness while minimizing (actor Kim Sae-ron's amount)."
I couldn't erase all traces of Kim Sae-ron. However, Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-i's bromance chemistry was enough to erase Kim Sae-ron's traces. Director Kim Joo-hwan even emphasized that Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-i were "bromance heaven." Director Kim Joo-hwan was right. When Woo Do-hwan appeared on the recently broadcast MBC variety show 'I Live Alone', Lee Sang-gi was also with him. The usual appearance of the two was not much different from the appearance in 'Hounds'. Park Seong-woong, who described himself as a bromance broker, also said, "These friends are steamed."
In the picture drawn by director Kim Joo-hwan, Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-i boasted their bromance chemistry to their heart's content. We looked at the works that boasted another romance beyond the romance of Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-i.'Youth Police' (2017) │Netflix, TVing, Wave, Coupang Play, Watcha

The competitive structure of bromance chemistry between Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-i in 'Hounds' and Park Seo-joon and Kang Ha-neul in 'Youth Police' draws attention. Lee Sang-i also said that he felt the scent of romance chemistry in “Youth Police” when he first saw the script for “Hounds.”'The scoundrel; World of Bad Guys' (2017) │Netflix, TVing, Watcha

In particular, Sol Kyung-gu and Im Si-wan created a fandom called 'The Scoundrel' through 'The Scoundrel: World of Bad Guys'. Seol Kyung-gu expressed his affection for the villain, saying, "Thank you, it's a fun part. It also makes me nervous."'Cooperation 2: International' (2022) │Netflix, TVing, Disney+

You can also check the bromance chemistry of Hyun Bin and Yu Hae-jin, who returned to Season 2 after 5 years following 'Cooperation' in 2017, and Daniel Henney, a new face. The three people completed the story with laughter and deep emotion.
