'Bargain', Official Invitation to the 48th Toronto International Film Festival Primetime Section
Teabing's original series 'Bargain' (directed by Jeon Woo-sung) was officially invited to the Primetime section of the 48th Toronto International Film Festival.

The Toronto International Film Festival, which celebrated its 48th anniversary this year, is the largest film festival in North America and is considered one of the world's four major international film festivals along with the Cannes, Berlin and Venice International Film Festivals, and will be held from September 7 to 17 this year. In particular, it is a high-profile event as major awards ceremonies in North America, such as the Golden Globes and the Academy, continue from the Toronto International Film Festival.

On the 15th, it was announced on the 15th that 'Bargain' was officially invited to the Primetime section of the 48th Toronto International Film Festival. As a result, 'Ransom' has received attention in North America following the French Cannes series 'Screenplay Award' and Germany's Sirien Camp 'Critics Award' in the first half of this year.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Primetime section has been highlighting globally acclaimed series and discovering up-and-coming creators, crossing the boundaries of TV and film. Last year, 7 films were invited, and 4 films were selected in 2021, and contemporary topics have been carefully selected. 5 were invited to the section.

'Bargain' is a thriller that unfolds as a major earthquake strikes the building where the 'Bargain' bargaining took place for their own reasons. This work succeeded in driving the box office immediately after its domestic release last year thanks to directing that kept the original short film's unconventional elements intact and the vivid performances of actors such as Jin Seon-gyu, Jeon Jong-seo, and Jang Ryul. This year, K-content's first Cannes International Series Festival Best Screenplay' and Germany's first series/drama festival Siriencamp 'Critic Award', and was recognized as a well-made work.

An official from Teabing said, "'Bargain' is a work with a special meaning as it is attracting attention at the Toronto International Film Festival in North America in the second half of this year following the Cannes Series and Sirien Camp, which are European regional series festivals in the first half of this year. Through this film festival, we hope that more audiences will experience the unique charm of the work.”

Climax Studio, the production company, said, “I am happy to be able to introduce good Korean actors, directors and writers to the big market at the Toronto International Film Festival, before meeting with audiences around the world through Paramount+. 'Bargain', which was selected as the second partnership between Teabing and Paramount+ last year, is scheduled to be released in 27 countries, including the US, Canada, UK and Australia, served by Paramount+ on October 5 (local time in the US).
