'Celebrity' Park Kyu-young "The one-top lead role was burdensome, but it felt good"

On the morning of the 4th, an interview with Park Kyu-young, who appeared in the Netflix original series 'Celebrity', was held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.
'Celebrity' is the story of Ari (played by Park Kyu-young), who jumped into the world of money by becoming famous, and depicts the colorful and fierce faces of celebrities. In the play, Park Kyu-young played the role of Seo Ah-ri, the main character who became an influencer with 1.3 million followers overnight from an ordinary office worker.
Park Gyu-young said, "Thankfully, I received the script. I read it and it was about social media and influencers. I thought that there would be no reason not to do it if it was a character who could speak independently of this kind of story. I enjoyed the director's previous works, so I must say I wanted to participate," he said about the process of participating.
Director Kim Chul-gyu, who directed 'Celebrity', did not use social media, but operated his own social media account to enhance the realism of 'Celebrity'. In response, Park Kyu-young said, "The director doesn't know SNS well, but I know that the writer did a lot of research beforehand. The director also did a lot of research and research while preparing." .Some said that it would be more realistic if expressed through DM rather than messages, and I also said that I upload stories more often than posts.”
Wasn’t there any pressure in that he was the one-stop lead? Park Kyu-young laughed, saying, "I wanted to say that I'm not nervous, but to be honest, I was very nervous. It was a lot of pressure, but it seemed like a lot of people liked it, so I let go. When I turned on Netflix, my face stood up. Personally, I feel good."
In the play, Ari sometimes receives severe malicious comments. In fact, when asked how to overcome bad comments, Park Gyu-young said, "I think listening to various feedback is part of the job's naturalness, but honestly, it doesn't seem to be an easy part. I accept what I have to accept, and there are things I pass with positive energy. But When I see many of my colleagues in pain, there are things that I want to improve socially. I don't actually get that bad comments, but when I act as Ari, my heart hurts enough to naturally empathize."
Park Gyu-young says that when a work is released, he looks for a reaction. The most impressive response from 'Celebrity' is that 'my vocalization has improved'. He explained, “It was a part that I was concerned about while acting in this work, so I was grateful that he told me exactly that part.”
