Munchun (played by Kim Won-hae), a veteran of the violent crime investigation unit of 'Ghost', has been collecting strange suicide case files in his desk drawer. It was a suicide case with red bruises on the wrist as if someone had grabbed it tightly. It all started with the first case that Munchun took on in 1995 when he was a rookie detective, the suicide case of Hae Hae's (played by Oh Jeong-se) mother.
The deceased, who was found in a small burnt-out guest house, had hanged himself from a crossbeam, with red bruises on both wrists. The young son Hae-hae, who was found in the hills near the site, stated at the time, "There was someone else at the scene, and the mother was not a suicide." However, at a time when there were no CCTVs and scientific investigations were incomplete, Munchun was also new, so many things were awkward. In the end, similar incidents continued to occur, starting with this case that continued to bother me as it ended in suicide without finding a suspect who disappeared from the scene.
Munchun, who had been investigating these cases alone for a long time, suggested to his partner Hong-sae (Hong Kyung-min), "Let's solve this case." To him, who was rumored to be “thirsty for promotion,” he threw half-joking and half-serious bait, saying, “If this is solved, a special promotion.”
Hong-sae, the 'chief ace of the police force', also pays attention to a strange suicide case. In the preview video for episode 3, which was released in advance, Hongsae said, "I've been looking for a recent suicide case, but there's something strange. On the day the victims died, I heard the same sound of high heels.”
However, while investigating this case, Hong-sae, who encountered Hae-hae and San-yeong (played by Kim Tae-ri), also has strong doubts. Voice phishing criminals who recently scammed Sanyoung's mother and daughter, Sanyoung's father Kangmo (played by Jin Seon-gyu) and grandmother Seokran (played by Yee Soo-jung), etc. "Why do bad things happen to people you know?" This is a part that raises strong doubts about whether Sanyeong was involved in this suicide case. In addition, Hae-hae amplifies the question by warning San-yeong, saying, “One more person will die soon,” and “If you know you are dying but ignore it, it will be more difficult.”
