K-Pop Star Lim Chang-jung Expands Global Reach with Hong Kong Collaboration
Korean singer Lim Chang-jung continues his global journey through appearances on Hong Kong television and collaborations with local artists.

On September 30th, Lim appeared on Hong Kong's public broadcaster HOYTV's show 'Time Flies Like a Song,' where he shared a musical exchange with popular Hong Kong singer-songwriter Phil Lam.

During the segment 'Cantonese Classics with You (World Edition),' Lim and Phil Lam reinterpreted 'Smile Again,' the original song of the popular Hong Kong drama OST '祝君好 (Wish You Well),' showcasing a musical connection that transcends borders.

The choice of 'Smile Again' holds special significance. Originally released by Lim in 2017, the song was remade into the Cantonese version '祝君好 (Wish You Well)' and became a beloved drama OST in Hong Kong. The collaboration between the original artist and the remake artist on the same stage adds symbolic meaning, bridging Korea and Hong Kong.

Lim, who participated in the arrangement to enhance the performance, expressed his joy, saying, “I am delighted to know that many people in Hong Kong love this song. I am grateful for the opportunity to perform a song that I don't often sing at concerts.”

Additionally, Lim captivated local fans by passionately singing 'The Past Can Only Be Remembered' from the 'A Better Tomorrow' OST, with lyrics he personally adapted into Korean and Cantonese. Hong Kong fans responded enthusiastically, saying, “This is amazing. A Korean singing in Cantonese!” and “He's my favorite singer.”

Through this collaboration with local music, Lim has further solidified his active overseas presence. The performance, which balanced his identity as the original artist with local sensibilities, underscores the potential for 'K-Ballad' to expand globally.

Lim Chang-jung is actively expanding his global activities, performing in diverse locations such as Sydney, Australia, Los Angeles, USA, and Vietnam. There is growing anticipation for what new ventures 'Artist Lim Chang-jung' will embark on next.
