KBS 2TV's 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri' Premieres with Laughter and Drama
The first episode, which aired on March 26th at 9:50 PM, introduced viewers to the chaotic journey of Park Sung-woong's family as they transition from city life to rural living in the remote area of 'Yeonriri.'
In the premiere, Sung Tae-hoon, played by Park Sung-woong, is a successful manager at the food conglomerate 'Matstory.' However, he faces an unexpected career setback when he is reassigned to the Yeonriri branch, known as the company's exile location, due to a cabbage supply issue. Despite contemplating resignation, Tae-hoon decides to endure the situation for the sake of his family, including his medical student son and children studying abroad. Thus begins the tumultuous rural life of 'K-Father' Sung Tae-hoon, setting the stage for 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri.'
Tae-hoon optimistically declares, "Farming is easy! Plant it, and it will grow!" as he embarks on cabbage farming. However, his lack of farming experience leads to a series of comedic challenges, providing viewers with plenty of laughs. His struggles, from lifting heavy stones to facing the harsh realities of farming, evoke both sympathy and amusement.
The show's title, 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri,' cleverly incorporates regional names and the phrase "plant it, and it will grow," symbolizing the show's concept.
Adding to Tae-hoon's troubles, he clashes with village chief Im Joo-hyung, played by Lee Seo-hwan, who challenges Tae-hoon's farming efforts with a stern warning: "Clear all the stones and see if even a single blade of grass grows." This sets up a rivalry between the two characters, with Tae-hoon determined to fight back. However, his attempts are thwarted when he is drenched by a sprinkler in the middle of a barren field, creating a dramatic ending to the episode. The tension between Tae-hoon and Im Joo-hyung, who harbors resentment towards Tae-hoon's affiliation with 'Matstory,' adds intrigue and anticipation for future episodes.
The second episode of 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri' will air on April 2nd at 9:50 PM.
