The title track from BTS's 2020 mini-album 'BE', 'Life Goes On', has now accumulated over 1 billion streams on Spotify, marking the group's sixth song to reach this milestone. Previously, BTS achieved 1 billion streams with 'FAKE LOVE', 'Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)', 'Dynamite', 'Butter', and 'My Universe'. The Korean-centric lyrics of 'Life Goes On' add to its significance.
This achievement coincides with the success of BTS's newly released album 'ARIRANG', which dropped on March 20. The album's tracks are performing strongly on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart, and 'Life Goes On' has re-entered the same chart, showcasing the enduring popularity of both new and older releases.
'Life Goes On' delivers a comforting message about life's continuity despite facing unavoidable pauses. Upon its release, it topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (December 5, 2020), making history as the only primarily Korean-language song to achieve this in Billboard's 62-year history.
The music video, directed by Jungkook, continues to resonate with fans, capturing the warmth of everyday moments and the members singing serenely. Jungkook infused the video with his unique sensibility, conveying the longing and regret of not being able to meet fans in person due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, BTS's 'ARIRANG' album, released on March 20, features the title track 'SWIM', which has topped Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart for two consecutive days (March 20-21). Domestically, it has also dominated the daily charts of major music sites like Melon, Genie, and Bugs as of March 22.
