Han Roro Wins 'Korean Music Awards' with EP 'Grapefruit Apricot Club'
Singer and author Han Roro has been honored with an award at the 'Korean Music Awards' for her EP 'Grapefruit Apricot Club', released last year. Released in August, 'Grapefruit Apricot Club' sheds light on the tragedy of youth being pushed to the edge in times that should be their most beautiful, offering warm comfort to young people.

On the 26th, Han Roro received the 'Musician of the Year' award at the '23rd Korean Music Awards' held at Musinsa Garage in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

According to her agency, Authentic, Han Roro expressed her gratitude, saying, "Music started with love, but it was not always easy. I want to share the joy of this award with my family, friends, agency colleagues, and fans who have been a great support." She added, "The EP 'Grapefruit Apricot Club' was made with sincerity to deliver a message of hope to everyone I love. The warm words I receive from those who listen give me greater courage, strength, and love."

The 'Korean Music Awards' organizing committee commented on Han Roro, saying, "Her songs start by confronting the sadness behind the glamorous portrayal of youth," and described her as "a herald of the great rock star our era will witness."

Meanwhile, Han Roro, who majored in Korean Language and Literature at Konkuk University, debuted in 2022 with the digital single 'Ipchun'. Last July, she released her third mini-album 'Grapefruit Apricot Club' and a novel of the same name, establishing her name as an author. This novel topped the bestseller list in the third week of February at Kyobo Bookstore. Kyobo Bookstore stated, "It is the first time since Tablo's novel collection 'Pieces of You' in 2008 that a novel, not a singer's photo book or essay, has ranked first overall."
