SEVENTEEN's DK and Seungkwan Achieve Gold Certification in Japan with 'Soyoak'
SEVENTEEN's subunit 'BooSeokSoon', consisting of DK and Seungkwan, has added another record to their achievements in Japan.

According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on the 10th, DK and Seungkwan's mini-album 'Soyoak' received a Gold Disc certification for January. The RIAJ awards Gold Disc certifications based on cumulative shipments, with Gold for 100,000 units, Platinum for 250,000 units, and Double Platinum for 500,000 units.

This marks SEVENTEEN's third Gold Disc certification as a unit. Previously, Jeonghan and Wonwoo's single album 'THIS MAN' and S.Coups and Mingyu's mini-album 'HYPE VIBES' also received Gold certifications. As a group, SEVENTEEN holds a total of 18 Gold Disc certified albums, including singles.

'Soyoak' sold nearly 100,000 copies on its release day in Japan, immediately topping the Oricon Daily Album Ranking on January 22nd. The album continues to show its enduring popularity, recently reappearing at number one on the chart as of February 5th.

The title track 'Blue' is also receiving much love in Japan. It entered the top spot on Japan's Spotify Daily Viral Songs chart on January 26th and maintained its position for six consecutive days. This is a remarkable achievement for a traditional ballad in the K-pop market, which is often dominated by intense performances.

Additionally, 'Blue' is enjoying long-term success, bolstered by a vocal challenge featuring artists from various genres. The duet challenge, which fans participated in, and short-form videos incorporating 'Blue' into relatable breakup scenarios have gained traction, securing a spot in the upper ranks of YouTube Korea's latest 'Weekly Shorts Popular Songs' (January 30th to February 5th).
