BTS's New Album 'ARIRANG' Surpasses 4 Million Pre-Orders in Just One Week
According to YG Plus, the distributor for BTS, the group's fifth studio album 'ARIRANG' has reached 4.06 million pre-orders as of the 22nd. This milestone was achieved just a week after pre-orders began on the 16th.
This figure surpasses the pre-order numbers of their previous record-breaking album, 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7', which had 3.42 million pre-orders in its first week and eventually sold over 5 million copies according to Circle Chart. 'ARIRANG' is on track to break records at an even faster pace, especially with nearly two months remaining until its release. The anticipation for the final pre-order numbers is high.
The excitement surrounding BTS's comeback is evident in various metrics. Following the announcement of the new album and world tour on the fan platform Weverse, membership sign-ups have tripled. On Spotify, the album's pre-save count surpassed 1 million within two days and reached 2 million by the fourth day. There is speculation on whether it will surpass Taylor Swift's record of approximately 6 million pre-saves for her 12th studio album 'The Life of a Showgirl'.
'ARIRANG' marks BTS's first full-group album release in nearly 3 years and 9 months and is set to drop on March 20th at 1 PM. The album is expected to resonate with global music fans by exploring themes of identity, longing, and profound love.
