K-pop Star Kang Daniel to Begin Military Service in February
According to his agency, ARA Entertainment, Kang Daniel will begin his mandatory military service on February 9th. He will serve as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army.
Kang Daniel had previously announced his enlistment plans during a press conference in June last year, held to commemorate the release of his sixth mini-album. At the time, he mentioned that his enlistment was scheduled for the latter half of the year. However, as the year progressed without further news, fans were left wondering about the delay.
During the press conference, Kang Daniel expressed, "I initially planned to enlist earlier, but I wanted to engage in meaningful activities and showcase as much as I could as an artist before leaving." True to his word, he continued his musical endeavors, releasing 'PULSEPHASE' in December.
Kang Daniel first rose to fame in 2017 after winning first place on Mnet's audition program 'Produce 101 Season 2'. He debuted with the group Wanna One in August of the same year. Following the conclusion of the group's activities, he embarked on a successful solo career.
Meanwhile, Wanna One is set to reunite for a new reality program in the first half of this year. Reports suggest that Kang Daniel is considering participating in some of the filming for the show.
