ILLIT's 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' Climbs Charts and Captivates Fans with Stunning Performance
The group, consisting of members YoonA, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha, appeared on Mnet's 'M Countdown' on the 8th, performing their debut single 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE.' This marked their return to the music show stage approximately a month after their official promotions had ended, fueled by the overwhelming support from global music fans.
ILLIT's performance showcased their newfound confidence and maturity. Their enhanced expressiveness amplified the song's dreamy atmosphere, while their precise and delicate dance moves captivated the audience. The highlight of the performance was their intense facial expressions matching the lyrics, "I'm not cute anymore." Fans passionately chanted ILLIT's name throughout the performance, heating up the venue.
Special MCs YoonA, Wonhee, and Iroha also shone brightly. Dressed in outfits reminiscent of fairy tale matchstick girls, they charmed the audience with their adorable visuals and lively hosting, smoothly guiding the live broadcast. The trio displayed perfect chemistry in their skits and conducted interviews with guest artists skillfully, creating a delightful atmosphere.
The song's popularity is further boosted by its use as the background music for the globally trending 'Hood Jumpshot' challenge, increasing its usage on short-form platforms. The 'Sped Up' version of the track has secured 4th and 3rd places on TikTok's 'Top 50' and 'Viral 50' charts, respectively (as of January 2), maintaining its unwavering popularity.
Meanwhile, ILLIT has made a strong impression on the 2025 Melon Annual Chart announced on the 8th, with two tracks, 'Magnetic' (from their first mini-album) and 'Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)' (from their third mini-album), making the list. Notably, their debut track 'Magnetic' has charted for two consecutive years, having ranked 8th last year.
