BTS has recently been in the spotlight due to ongoing issues, including expressing dissatisfaction with their label. Industry insiders warn that such controversies could negatively impact their future activities, urging the group to demonstrate more maturity.
On October 21, BTS engaged with fans through a live broadcast on the Weverse platform, expressing excitement about their comeback. Comments like "I wish spring would come soon" and "The waiting is painful" were shared. During the broadcast, leader RM remarked, "I don't usually say this, but I wish the company (HYBE) would show us a bit more affection."
While the members laughed, Jin, the eldest, attempted to lighten the mood by saying, "But isn't the company working hard for us?" RM responded, "I'm not sure. I just wish they would embrace us a bit more," drawing attention.
BTS has been instrumental in the growth of HYBE and its label, Big Hit Music. Given RM's experience and the group's status, it's unlikely that there are significant barriers to communicating with the label. RM's comments could be perceived as relying on fan support rather than resolving issues through communication with the label, which has sparked controversy. As the leader, RM serves as a bridge between the members and the label, and his words should be more carefully considered.
Since their military discharge, RM and some members have been less visible in the media, leaving fans in the dark about the details. This transparency has led to increased anxiety and fatigue among fans. RM also mentioned disbandment, adding to the stress, and later apologized, saying, "I'm sorry for causing fatigue." Despite this, similar incidents continue.
Some fans speculate that RM's comments might be an attempt to redirect dissatisfaction and anger towards the company, especially following recent dating rumors involving Jungkook and Winter, which lacked a proper explanation. A K-pop fan commented, "Repeated complaints are causing ongoing fatigue among fans. RM should be more cautious with his words."
