Virtual Idol Group PLAVE Tops Billboard Korea Hot 100 with 'BBUU!'

Virtual idol group PLAVE has claimed the top spot on the newly launched 'Billboard Korea Hot 100' chart, a collaboration between Billboard's headquarters and Billboard Korea.

On the 17th, Billboard Korea announced that PLAVE's second single album 'PLBBUU' and its title track 'BBUU!' secured the number one position on the 'Billboard Korea Hot 100' for the week of December 5th to 11th.

The album's track 'Bongsoong-a'(봉숭아) ranked fifth, while 'Island' and '12:32 (A to T)' also entered the top 10, showcasing PLAVE's strong fanbase and musical prowess.

Notably, the title track 'BBUU!' also made its mark on the 'Billboard Global 200' chart, debuting at 170th, further establishing their presence in the global music market.

The 'Billboard Korea Hot 100' chart ranks the most popular songs in Korea, based on streaming numbers and sales data from major domestic and international music platforms. Last week, singer Hwasa topped the same chart.

Additionally, PLAVE's second single album 'PLBBUU' set a new personal record with approximately 1.09 million copies sold in its first week, marking the second-highest first-week sales for a boy group single album in history.

Meanwhile, PLAVE successfully concluded their first Asia tour with performances at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on November 21st and 22nd.
