SHINee's Key Apologizes Amid 'Injection Aunt' Controversy
SHINee's Key has issued an apology regarding the 'Injection Aunt' controversy.

On the 17th, Key posted a lengthy apology on his social media.

Key began by saying, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people with various stories."

Unlike other celebrities involved in the controversy who quickly distanced themselves, Key took 12 days to address the issue. He explained, "I am sorry for not being able to quickly organize my thoughts and clarify my future actions due to the confusion and embarrassment from newly discovered facts."

He continued, "I have always prided myself on staying away from such matters, but this mindset seems to have prevented me from wisely observing my surroundings. I am deeply sorry and ashamed to those who have believed in and supported me."

Key concluded, "I will diligently do everything I can regarding this matter. I will take this time to reflect on myself and my surroundings once again. I am truly sorry."

Prior to this, Key's agency, SM Entertainment, released an official statement saying, "Key was introduced to a hospital in Gangnam by an acquaintance, where he first met Mr. Lee, believing him to be a doctor. Key continued to receive treatment at the hospital and occasionally at home when visiting the hospital was difficult. Recently, he became aware of the controversy regarding Mr. Lee's medical license and is deeply confused, reflecting on his ignorance."

Key has decided to step down from his scheduled activities and programs. Consequently, he will not be appearing as an MC at the MBC 'Entertainment Awards.'
