Kim Eui-young Tops Poll as the Most Desirable Female Trot Singer to Wrap a Scarf Around This Winter

Kim Eui-young has been voted as the number one female trot singer people would like to wrap a scarf around this winter.

From December 4th to 10th, TENASIA conducted a poll asking, 'Which female trot singer would you like to wrap a scarf around in the middle of winter?'

Kim Eui-young claimed the top spot. She made her official debut as a trot singer by reaching the TOP 5 in TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 2' in 2020. On the KBS1 show 'Music Stage' aired on November 24th, Kim reinterpreted and performed Lee Mi-ja's 'A Woman's Life.'(여자의 일생) In May, she released her fourth single 'STARTrot PART.1,' produced by Kim Hyung-seok. The title track 'Do Whatever You Want'(하고 싶은 거 다 해) is a bright and cheerful dance trot song that showcases Kim's refreshing charm.

Hongja secured the second position. In September, she released a new song 'My Daughter'(내 딸아) after about 10 months since her last digital single 'The things that I loved' was released last year. 'My Daughter' features a gentle melody enhanced by Hongja's deep and resonant voice, adding authenticity to the song. The track captures the emotions of parents sending their daughter off to marriage, expressing joy, blessings, and the bittersweet feeling of letting go.

Kim Da-hyun came in third. On November 18th, she appeared on MBN's 'Korean-Japanese Top Ten Show'(한일톱텐쇼) and passionately performed the 1980s hit 'After You Left.'(님 떠난 후) She revealed that her father is a fan of 80s music and captivated viewers with her mature performance. Takuya, who also performed on the same stage, delivered the original version of 'LOVE SONG,' which was remade by Cho Jang-hyuck, flawlessly including the Korean lyrics in the latter part, but the final victory went to Kim Da-hyun.

Currently, on the Top Ten TENASIA website（topten.tenasia.com), polls are being conducted with themes such as 'Which male singer would you like to share warm fish cakes with on a snowy winter day?', 'Which female singer would you like to share warm fish cakes with on a snowy winter day?', 'Which male trot singer would you like to share warm fish cakes with on a snowy winter day?', and 'Which female trot singer would you like to share warm fish cakes with on a snowy winter day?'
