CORTIS Wins 'Best New Artist' at 2025 MAMA Awards Amid Hong Kong Tragedy

The group CORTIS has claimed the 'Best New Artist' trophy, a prestigious award for newcomers.

On the 28th, the '2025 MAMA Awards' took place at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.

CORTIS was honored with the 'Best New Artist' award. Before delivering his acceptance speech, Martin expressed, "We all extend our deepest condolences to those affected and those who lost their lives in the Hong Kong fire." James added, "I want to express my deepest sympathies to the victims of this fire."

James continued, "It's a great honor to receive such an award within 100 days of our debut." Keonho added, "The Best New Artist award is something you can only receive once in a lifetime, making it even more special. Thank you to our fans, COER, for your constant support."

Juhoon expressed gratitude to his parents and family for their support, while Seonghyeon thanked producer Bang Si-hyuk and BIGHIT MUSIC's CEO for allowing them to pursue music freely. Meanwhile, on the 26th at around 2 PM local time, a major fire broke out in a high-rise apartment complex in the Tai Po area of northern Hong Kong. Despite the incident, the 'MAMA' event proceeded as planned. The 'MAMA' organizers stated, "The '2025 MAMA AWARDS' aims to share in the sorrow and provide a moment of remembrance with the 'Support Hong Kong' message, while also contributing to victim support through donations."
