Kim Eui-young Tops Poll as Most Desired Trot Singer to Make Kimchi With
From November 17 to 23, TENASIA conducted a poll asking, 'Which female trot singer would you like to make kimchi with?' Kim Eui-young emerged as the winner. She made her official debut as a trot singer after finishing in the TOP 5 on TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 2' in 2020. In May, she released her fourth single 'STARTrot PART.1', produced by Kim Hyung-seok. The title track 'Do Whatever You Want'(하고 싶은 거 다 해) is a bright and lively dance trot song that showcases Kim Eui-young's refreshing charm.
Singer Kim Da-hyun came in second place. On the November 18 episode of MBN's 'Korean-Japanese Top Ten Show'(한일톱텐쇼), he performed the 1980s hit 'After You Left'(님 떠난 후). He revealed that his father is a fan of 80s music and captivated viewers with his mature performance. Takuya, who shared the stage, performed the original version of 'LOVE SONG', which was remade by Cho Jang-hyuck, and flawlessly delivered the Korean lyrics in the latter part. However, the final victory went to Kim Da-hyun.
In third place was singer Kum Jan-di. She debuted in the music industry in 2000 with 'Yeongjongdo Seagull / Wet Glass Window'(영종도 갈매기 / 젖은 유리창). She gained significant popularity with her 2012 release 'Brother'(오라버니) and has been actively participating in OSTs and other projects. Last year, she transformed into an essayist by publishing her first essay, 'Bringing Golden Happiness, Trot Singer Kum Jan-di'(금빛 행복을 드리는, 트로트 가수 금잔디입니다).
Currently, on the Top Ten TENASIA website(topten.tenasia.com), polls are being conducted on topics such as 'Which male singer would you like to go to a sauna with this winter?', 'Which female singer would you like to go to a sauna with this winter?', 'Which male trot singer would you like to go to a sauna with this winter?', and 'Which female trot singer would you like to go to a sauna with this winter?'
