MIYEON of (G)I-DLE Concludes Successful Promotions for Mini Album 'MY, Lover'
On October 16, MIYEON concluded her two-week official activities for the album with a performance on SBS's 'Inkigayo'. The album, featuring the title track 'Say My Name' and the pre-released track 'Reno (Feat. Colde)', consists of seven songs that explore emotions of separation, longing, regret, reflection, overcoming, and devotion, earning widespread acclaim.
During her promotional period, MIYEON graced the stages of KBS2's 'Music Bank', MBC's 'Show! Music Core', and SBS's 'Inkigayo', showcasing her deepened vocal tone and stable vocals, delivering high-quality performances. As a solo artist, she demonstrated her diverse charms, solidifying her position as a multifaceted musician.
The album also achieved notable success both domestically and internationally. 'MY, Lover' surpassed the first-week sales of her debut mini-album 'MY' by more than double, reaching 200,000 copies sold, marking a career high. Upon release, it topped major Chinese music platforms QQ Music and Kugou Music, entered the iTunes Top Albums chart in 18 countries, and ranked high on Apple Music charts in 10 countries, proving her global presence.
International media also responded positively. The American pop culture magazine Stardust praised her for "exploring new textures of sound with more detailed breath control, without losing the precision shown in 'MY'." The Italian magazine Panorama noted, "MIYEON refines rather than rushes or forces, halting the standardized formula of K-POP and returning to narrative."
MIYEON concluded her activities with a special clip for the track 'F.F.L.Y', a song she participated in writing, which metaphorically expresses emotions felt at the end of love. In the video, MIYEON passionately sings in a ruined space and a glass room, completing the emotional line intertwined with the seasonal transition effect.
Following her 'MY, Lover' promotions, MIYEON will meet global fans as an MC at the 'Dream Concert Abu Dhabi 2025' on October 22.
