Min Hee-jin Discusses NewJeans' Return to ADOR and Hints at New Beginnings
On the 13th, Min Hee-jin released an official statement saying, "The decision for the members to return together must have been made after deep consideration and conversation. I respect and support that choice. Despite the difficulties, I value the courage of the members who have come together again to protect each other."
Min Hee-jin's comments are particularly noteworthy as she is closely linked to the background of NewJeans' decision to terminate their exclusive contract with ADOR. Previously, NewJeans cited Min's absence as a significant reason for their contract termination.
Additionally, Min Hee-jin hinted at a fresh start, saying, "I can start anew anywhere," while emphasizing, "Regardless of the situation, NewJeans should be preserved as a group of five."
She also addressed the ongoing lawsuit with HYBE, stating, "The lawsuit between HYBE and me is entirely separate from NewJeans. I am doing my best as an individual, hoping the truth will be revealed."
Min Hee-jin has already indicated a new beginning by establishing OOAK (One of a Kind). There are rumors that she is preparing a new boy group. However, she is currently involved in multiple legal disputes with HYBE and its subsidiary labels.
Min Hee-jin and HYBE are engaged in a lawsuit over a put option worth 26 billion KRW (approximately $260 million), which grants the right to sell shares at a specific price. Additionally, HYBE's subsidiary labels, such as Source Music and Belift Lab, have filed damage claims against Min Hee-jin, which are expected to be adjudicated by the court.
