The group CORTIS is making waves in the United States, appearing on popular radio programs and gaining recognition. Industry insiders suggest that Big Hit Music is nurturing them as the 'post-BTS' generation.

On the 15th, CORTIS appeared on Apple Music's radio show 'The Zane Lowe Show,' a popular program that has recently featured pop stars like Taylor Swift and Tyler, The Creator.

On the same day, CORTIS performed at 'iHeartRadio LIVE with CORTIS.' This stage has long been a platform for pop stars to perform and engage with audiences. News of CORTIS's appearance reportedly led to a tenfold increase in participation in the pre-show Q&A segment. They are also set to perform at the 'KOOM Festival' in New York on the 18th.

Industry experts believe that CORTIS's active presence in the U.S. is partly influenced by their predecessors, BTS. A music producer noted, "Given that CORTIS debuted less than two months ago, it's challenging to view their U.S. popularity as 'substantial' yet," adding that "the positive influence of BTS's legacy is evident."

However, BTS's popularity is not the sole factor in CORTIS's appeal. The industry views CORTIS as distinct from typical idols produced by entertainment agencies, emphasizing their strong image as 'artists' with self-producing capabilities.

Industry insiders believe Big Hit Music created CORTIS with the aim of producing a 'second BTS.' BTS's global appeal began with members crafting and sharing their own stories.

An industry source commented, "Unlike other artists under HYBE or Big Hit Music, CORTIS exudes a BTS-like aura. Each member has unique talents in composing and dancing, projecting an image closer to free-spirited artists than manufactured idols."

A representative from an entertainment agency also highlighted CORTIS's strengths, which include 'autonomy' and 'sincerity,' traits also associated with BTS. "Their honest lyrics capture their imperfect journey, and their collaborative creation of music, choreography, and visuals showcases their autonomy," they said.

Meanwhile, CORTIS's debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,' released in August, reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart last month. The album also surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify as of the 12th, with the U.S. being the country with the most streams.
