Q. It's been about five months since your first EP 'MY EYES OPEN VVIDE'. How do you feel about this comeback?
Soo-in: Our first EP was loved by many. We worked hard and took on new challenges to return quickly, and I believe fans will love this album too. I'm excited for the 'BURNING UP' activities.
Anna: I'm thrilled about the comeback after five months! I'm excited to show another side of MIAO with this song.
Na-rin: I'm more passionate and eager for this comeback than ever. We took time to regroup and solidify our team's purpose and will. We want to convey our sincerity to fans and the public through 'BURNING UP'. I'm happy and excited to be back on stage with great music, performance, and strengthened teamwork.
Q. You've celebrated your debut anniversary and become seniors with new groups debuting. How has MIAO changed from a year ago?
Soo-in: We've become more responsible and think about how to positively influence ourselves and the team.
Anna: We've become more comfortable on stage and understand each other better.
Ella: A year ago, we were nervous and inexperienced. Now, we're more accustomed to activities like music shows and filming, though there's still much to learn!
Q. How would you describe the title track 'BURNING UP' in one word? What was your first impression of the song?
Ga-won: It's the embodiment of burning energy. We first heard the songs from our first EP as trainees, but we encountered this song after debuting. We were all convinced it was the right choice for our next activity.
Anna: It's the hottest song! It left a strong impression from the first listen, capturing MIAO's energy. I hope listeners feel the heat of the moment.
Na-rin: In one word, 'explosion'. It feels like all passion and emotions burst out at once. 'BURNING UP' is unlike any of our previous songs, and I'm curious about the reaction to our new performance.
Q. What are the highlights of the title track 'BURNING UP' and its music video?
Soo-in: The low tone at the start of the chorus is a highlight. In the music video, MIAO sets fire to everything in their path, only to be cooled by a massive rain. Enjoy the performance too!
Ga-won: The explosive energy and the harmony of the members' personalities are key points. The story of appliances and sprinklers trying to cool down the heat is a fun highlight.
Ella: The highlight of the music video is the scene where we dance in the rain. It adds a refreshing touch to the video.
Q. You've been noted for your unique performances since debut. How has your performance evolved through various stages?
Ga-won: We strive to show diverse charms and new looks with each performance. We now focus more on conveying genuine emotions rather than just perfect execution.
Anna: We now distinguish between parts where we give our all and parts where we hold back, to keep the performance engaging.
Na-rin: We've learned the importance of expression through various stages. We now think more about how to express emotions and rehearsed elements on stage.
Q. Each song has a signature dance break. What are the highlights of 'BURNING UP'?
Soo-in: 'BURNING UP' features three dance breaks, each showcasing MIAO's intense energy and crazy tension. The chorus step performance is also a fun highlight.
Ga-won: 'BURNING UP' is the most glamorous MIAO performance yet. The handkerchief choreography is an impactful point.
Na-rin: The energy is unstoppable from the start. The dance break and point choreography are continuous, so focus on the unending energy.
Q. Among your songs, which one do you think best represents MIAO's identity?
Na-rin: No single song can define MIAO. Each song shows a different side of us. However, our debut song 'MEOW' uniquely captures our charm and musical identity.
Anna: I think 'HANDS UP' represents us well. It was a time when we worked hard and enjoyed being on stage.
Ella: 'MEOW' fits MIAO's identity best. It's a bit funky and unique. We'll continue to show MIAO's various charms through different songs.
Q. How does 'BURNING UP' showcase MIAO's new charm?
Anna: We'll show a strong yet sophisticated vibe. You'll see a more mature MIAO.
Na-rin: We wanted to show a rougher, freer MIAO. 'BURNING UP' is an honest expression of our passion.

Soo-in: Dancing in the rain for the music video was fun. It felt like a substitute for a summer trip.

Q. You've become a fashion icon and a 'Gen Alpha' role model. Do you actively participate in styling?
Ga-won: I'm passionate about fashion and often discuss with the visual team.
Soo-in: We give feedback during fittings and sometimes wear our own clothes for performances.

Q. Ga-won and Na-rin participated in writing lyrics. What was your mindset, and what's your 'killing part'?
Ga-won: I was passionate about writing lyrics. The chanting part 'we gon let that fire burn' is the killing part.
Anna: The part 'we gon let that fire burn' is powerful.
Na-rin: I wrote with a direct and honest approach. My rap part 'Ya don't compare' is my favorite.
Q. Do you get musical ideas from daily hobbies like reading?
Ga-won: Yes, I draw inspiration from everyday moments and hobbies.
Na-rin: I find inspiration in daily life and reading.
Q. How would you describe MIAO as a team? What titles have you earned over the past year?
Soo-in: We're cats who devour the stage!
Ga-won: We're known for our strong performances.
Anna: We're a confident team that respects each other.

Soo-in: We want to try all music genres!
Ga-won: I want to explore psychedelic rock, alternative rock, jazz, and EDM.

Soo-in: He always says, "Just do it! Enjoy it!"
Ga-won: He told me to smile more on stage, which resonated with me.
