SEVENTEEN's The8 Joins 'BOYS II PLANET' as Fourth Planet Master

SEVENTEEN's The8, a 1997-born Chinese member, is set to make a surprise appearance on Mnet's 'BOYS II PLANET'. Following Ong Seong-wu, Jo Yu-ri, and ATEEZ's San, The8 will take on the role of the fourth Planet Master.

According to Pledis Entertainment, a label under HYBE Music Group, The8 will appear as the fourth Planet Master on 'BOYS II PLANET' airing at 9:20 PM on the 4th. During a previously recorded session, he offered heartfelt advice and encouragement to participants preparing for the third mission, the 'Debut Concept Battle Mission'.

'BOYS II PLANET' invites senior artists as Planet Masters to serve as growth role models for participants. The8 has demonstrated a wide musical spectrum through SEVENTEEN's group activities and solo tracks like 'Skyfall (THE 8 Solo)'. Last year, he released his first Chinese EP 'STARDUST', marking his presence as a singer-songwriter by contributing to all tracks.

This year, The8 showcased his veteran artist skills by appearing as a producer and judge on Tencent Video's 'CHUANG ASIA Season 2' and 'Let Me Sing!'.

His latest self-composed track 'Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)', released last month, has received positive feedback. The song topped the Hot Trend Chart on China's largest music platform QQ Music and three Tencent Music charts (Uni Music Chart, Rising Chart, Trend Chart), and ranked on the 'iTunes Worldwide Song' chart.

The8 will headline the 'YJ (Yue Jian Chao Xiang) music festival' in Beijing on the 21st. This marks his first festival stage as a solo artist. The event, starting on the 20th, is expected to draw around 60,000 attendees over two days.
